Advent show days at the traditional Wendt & Kühn manufactory in Grünhainichen: Experience heavenly craftsmanship and Christmas magic.
On the first weekend of December (2 and 3 December 2023), the doors of the manufactory will open for the Advent Show Days in the anniversary year of the Elfpunkte Engel. Finally, the Christmas magic that surrounds the workshops in Grünhainichen can be experienced again, making the eyes of visitors young and old light up. Daily from 10 am to 5 pm, visitors can experience how the world-famous Elfpunkte angels and other magical figures are created in the workshops using skilful craftsmanship. Admission is free.
Visitors can look over the shoulders of the artisans, marvel and talk shop during guided tours or on their own in a festive atmosphere. They learn how the filigree figures are skilfully glued, "dipped" and painted. The wood store and the turnery provide insights into the world of wood and its processing.
Along the way, there are numerous attractions for the whole family to join in and get creative themselves. Visitors can look forward to a paper and wood craft trail, a florist's workshop, a post office for wish lists to Father Christmas, delicious treats at a small Christmas market and a curling rink. A photo in the lovingly decorated photo backdrop will keep the memory of this day alive.
In the historical area of Wendt & Kühn-Welt, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the Elfpunkte angels, who are celebrating their 100th birthday this year and to whom an extensive special exhibition with rare exhibits is dedicated. Experts will be on hand to answer questions.
The "Eleven Good Deeds" fundraising campaign will also once again be in the spotlight - the proceeds from various events during the show days will go towards the projects. Since May this year, Wendt & Kühn has been inviting people to support organisations in the region to mark the Engel anniversary. The eleven organisations that Wendt & Kühn would like to draw attention to come from the fields of nature conservation, social welfare, culture, music and sport, among others. The fundraising campaign will conclude at the end of the year and help the organisations in their dedicated work.
