"Down to the Beat and Hip Hop & Street Art Festival

It will be THE highlight of the summer: this is where fresh DJ beats & crazy b-boys and girls, sprayers & skaters, regional street artists & international breakdance stars meet. For the Kultursommer 2025, the city of Meißen is presenting the INTERNATIONAL HIP HOP & STREETART FESTIVAL - DOWN TO THE BEAT on 16.08.2025! All facets of hip hop culture will be showcased here. It also creates contacts with international partners, artists and dancers.

Breaking and hip hop culture have been an integral part of Meissen's cultural landscape since the 1980s. Meissen, as the founding city of Saxony, thus offers young people another opportunity to experience and help shape cultural diversity. Dancers and artists from the hip hop scene of this youth culture will be on site. A "Meeting of Generations" is therefore already guaranteed! An extensive supporting program with skateboard contest, graffiti workshop form a special framework! So ... let's go DOWN TO THE BEAT!
