The cultural festival invites you to a spring stay in the royal grounds of the Saxon State Spa.
"Rivers and streams are freed from the ice, by spring's fair, invigorating gaze; in the valley hopeful happiness greens..." These world-famous words begin Goethe's Easter walk, a classic of world literature. The cultural and festival town of Bad Elster now presents this "happiness of hope in the Elster Valley" as the Chursächsischer Frühlingszauber (Spring Magic of Saxony) at the start of the season in the blossoming royal grounds of the spa. The 5th edition of the enchanting spring festival will take place from 13 March to 26 April 2026 and, in addition to numerous first-class cultural and theatrical events on the "festival mile of short distances", will also offer royal Easter holidays around the decorated Easter fountain (02.04.-06.04.) and a tasteful KunstFest (24.-26.04.) on the last festival weekend.
The historic König Albert Theater is the center of the cultural spring growth. Highlights here include the operetta classic "Die Fledermaus" (13.03. & 17.04.), a symphony concert with the choir of the Frauenkirche Dresden in Bad Elster (28.03.), the Shakespeare ballet "Macbeth" (05.04.), the two plays "The Name of the Rose" (29.03.) and "Orson Welles rehearses Moby Dick" (12.04.) as well as the musical experiences "Anatevka" (27.03.) and "Azzurro Tre" on April 4. Numerous stars also flourish on Bad Elster's stage: guests from near and far can look forward to special theater evenings with Jay Alexander (14.03.), Gundermann's Seilschaft (21.03.), world star soprano Simone Kermes (06.04.), Tatort commissioner Meret Becker (11.04.), bestselling author Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre (19.04.), audience favorites Ann-Kathrin Kramer & Harald Krassnitzer (25.04.) or a chocolate concert by Christina Rommel (26.04.). Bad Elster also offers entertaining experiences for an enchanting spring break with an Irish folk show (22.03.), a Rod Stewart tribute (02.04.), a Paul Lincke Gala as a benefit concert (01.04.) and a cabaret evening with Reiner Kröhnert (10.04.).
