The highlight of this hike is the view from the Talkanzel into the valley of the Schwarze Pockau.
On this hike starting from Zöblitz, we reach the Niederlauterstein castle ruins and the Strobel mill in the Pockau valley. We ascend to the viewpoint "Talkanzel" and hike back through the forest to Zöblitz.
Note: The ascent to the Talkanzel requires surefootedness!

From the starting point, we follow the B 171 towards Marienberg and turn into Schloßbergstraße. We follow this for about 700 m up to the end of the settlement. Here we follow the hiking trail marked E3 to the Niederlauterstein castle ruins.
We cross the Schwarze Pockau and shortly afterwards turn right into the Pockau valley path (red marking), which we follow downstream to the Strobel mill. There we cross the stone arch bridge to the right and walk uphill along the main road for about 300 m. After the railway bridge, we turn left onto the path uphill towards the Talkanzel.
Note: Alpine path, requires surefootedness!
From the Talkanzel, we follow the green marking further along the Hohensteinweg. After a small stream, we turn sharply right onto the "Schwarzer Weg" uphill (yellow marking). We follow this back to the center of Zöblitz.
In case of snow, ice, or rain, the path to the Talkanzel is not recommended.
Sturdy footwear is recommended!
