Beautiful hiking route for the whole family through the NSG Greiz-Werdauer Forest.
Especially the children's playground, the freely accessible animal enclosure of the city of Greiz, the pottery workshop, and the Path of the Senses at the Nature Conservation Information Center make this circular route particularly attractive for families.

On a forest road that is initially only paved, you walk downhill to Schlötenteich. Then it continues through Schlötengrund until after about 2 km a wide forest path leads uphill to Bierweg and the round bench on the left. Many hiking trails intersect here, and you can reach Waldhaus again after 5.5 km by following the blue dot marking left past the animal enclosure and mausoleum. If you follow the well-known marking (yellow dot), after crossing the forest road you reach the upper Krümmetal, where you cross a narrow stream to the left and now climb steeply uphill on beautiful forest paths to Mittelberg.
Once you reach the top, Waldhaus is not far away. If you still have some desire and time, you can take a short detour to the right past the interesting lime hut beforehand.
