From the visitor mine Zinngrube in Ehrenfriedersdorf, continue driving up the street, pass the old headframe, and reach the S222. Here, turn right to the roundabout and continue straight towards Geyer. In Geyer, turn right onto Altmarkt/August-Bebel-Straße. After about 440 m, turn right towards Silberhüttenstraße. Here you can visit the Geyer Carving Home.
Then drive from Silberhüttenstraße to Thumer Straße and turn right onto it in the direction of Thum/Jahnsbach. You will pass the Greifenbach reservoir and have a great view of the Thum district Jahnsbach from the elevation. Follow the road for about 4.9 km to Jahnsbach, then turn right onto Straße der Freundschaft. After about 240 meters, on the left side, you will find the Carving Museum of the Jahnsbach Carving and Bobbin Lace Association e.V.
After visiting the museum, drive back on Straße der Freundschaft the way you came. Keep going straight and drive about 7 km over the next hills to Dorfchemnitz. On the route, you can see the Zwönitz districts Hormersdorf and Dorfchemnitz. To visit the Christmas mountain in Brünlos, from Dorfchemnitz turn right towards Thalheim and after about 1.8 km, turn left to Brünlos. Follow the street and then in Brünlos turn right at the former community office onto Volkshausstraße, after 500 m turn right and then directly left onto Windmühlenweg. There, you will find an impressive Christmas mountain to visit at the Kobel family.
From Windmühlenweg, drive back to Brünlos main street and turn left onto it. Follow it for about 1.9 km. At the intersection, turn left onto Zwönitztalstraße. This road takes you to Thalheim. Here, on Friedrichstraße, you will find the Tholm Foundation with a freshly restored local mountain and small Christmas exhibition. After visiting the exhibition, you will pass the historic town hall and the large illuminated Christmas tree at the market.
Through the illuminated streets of Thalheim, you will be guided about 3.5 km to Meinersdorf, where after entering the village you turn right at the Aldi market and reach Gornsdorf. In Gornsdorf, we recommend a detour to the Stocking Museum and the old stocking factory (advance registration with the Gornsdorf municipality required).
The main street leads you through Gornsdorf towards Hormersdorf and Auerbach. After about 2.7 km through Gornsdorf, turn left towards Auerbach. The Auerbach giant window-pane, located opposite the town administration, is particularly worth seeing there.
Following the priority road for about 1.6 km through Auerbach, you will go straight at the hill intersection towards Thum. Along the street, you have a great view of the beautifully illuminated town of Thum.
Following the priority road/B95, you will return to Ehrenfriedersdorf, the starting point of the illuminated drive at the visitor mine Zinngrube.
