Eibenstock – Boží DarFrom Saxony to the Czech Ore Mountain Ridge
Eibenstock, Stadtzentrum
Boží Dar, Zentrum
From the start in Eibenstock, we take the Euregio Egrensis long-distance cycle path in the direction of Sosa down towards the valley and in the Große Bockau valley turn right onto the I-6, which at this point is also the Karlsroute. Steadily climbing, we get to the hammer mill town of Wildenthal and via Oberwildenthal to the “Grenztor” border crossing. Further along the Karlsroute, we join the Ore Mountain main route No. 23. We have a short relaxing ride downhill to the small town of Jelení (Hirschenstand), before it is time to ascend past the Scheffelsberg mountain and Zaječí vrch (Rammelsberg 1009 m) to the mountain town of Horní Blatná (Platten). If you prefer, you can take a detour to the lookout tower on the Blatenský vrch (Plattenberg 1043 m). Back on the 23, we arrive at Myslivny (foresters’ houses) and the pond, moving onto the themed Christkind path, designed for children, to Boží Dar (Gottesgab), birthplace of Anton Günther, the Ore Mountain folk singer. The stage ends here.
