This route starts at the Hammerweg car park below the Old Town and leads via Kirchsteig or with the inclined elevator up to the church (access to St. Georgen Church and Schwarzenberg Castle). The path leads left into Obere Schlossstraße to the market – past Schwarzenberg Information on the left into Eibenstocker Street. Then turn right into Schneeberger Street. Uphill, the route crosses the main street and continues uphill past the old parsonage on the left to the viewpoint at Galgenberg (560 m). From here it continues to Bockauer Weg via Eibenstocker Street and straight ahead into Anton-Günther Strasse. From there left to the viewpoint at Becherberg.
A bit back to hiking trail E3 to Kratzbeersteig and then right. Left behind the houses parallel to Pappelweg. The route turns left after about 200 m into Bermsgrüner Street, straight ahead into the street "Am Rockelmann" and after about 200 m right uphill to the viewpoint Waldbühne (681.3 m). It continues out of the forest to Pappelweg and left towards Bermsgrün. At the transformer tower, follow the yellow marking to Kirchsteig and continue downhill over the meadow. In the garden area "Rosenthal" turn left and head towards Old Town with a view of the castle and church. At the main street turn right, cross the traffic lights and continue right towards Erla along the main street. After about 300 m, the path leads left after the railway bridge and continues towards a allotment garden area. From there, turn right towards OT Erla-Crandorf along the forest edge. In Erla, the path then leads left uphill to Eisenstraße and a magnificent view of the surrounding region. To the left past the model sports airfield to Freitaggut.
Continue downhill to Alte Annaberger Straße. At the supermarket, turn right into Alte Heerstrasse and after about 200 m left into a path past a horse paddock to "Ottensteinpark" (473.5 m). Above on the left is the viewing platform at Ottenstein. Continue downhill crossing Karlsbader Street (caution main road!) and reach the parking lot of the supermarket. Behind it the route goes along Schwarzwasser to the next bridge and then right into Bahnhofstraße. The direct ascent to Totenstein is no longer possible.
Follow the alternative route to the right via Bahnhofstraße to the old market hall. In front of the sports shop, stairs lead left into Totenstein park. Follow the path to the viewpoint at Totenstein (477.8 m) on the left side. It continues through the park downhill towards Old Town and to the "Lower Gate." Further towards the market and left into Untere Schlossstraße, past the Meissen porcelain carillon and finally at the church behind which is a ride with the inclined elevator or in front a staircase down to the starting point of the hike.
