The starting point of the hike is the fire station in the settlement of Augustusburg. The circular route is signposted throughout.
To the left of the fire station, the field path leads downhill with views over Grünberg towards the horse farm (caution, watchful dog). At first, it goes straight past the riding arena. After about 50 m, it first goes straight, then bends slightly right, continuing gently downhill. The path now runs between fields and gardens towards the forest and continues straight into the forest. In the forest, the path initially leads as a narrow trail slightly uphill straight ahead. At the next fork, keep right and then always follow the main path through a forested area that was recently still forest, until after a while you reach a hollow. In the hollow, the path bends to the left and you follow it uphill out of the forest. After a right turn, you pass a large meadow. Here is a nice spot for a picnic with a wonderful view of Augustusburg Castle. (Caution: sometimes the meadow is also fenced off as pasture.)
Follow the grass path to the first junction, turn left there, and shortly after have a beautiful view over Hohenfichte. At the next crossing turn right. Now follow this path straight ahead or in a left-right curve and then reach the main road. Turn right onto the main road. Now keep going uphill straight ahead, first on the main road, then on a narrower path.
The asphalted path shortly after turns back into a field path and then always leads with a view of the castle towards Augustusburg. Follow the main path (long-distance hiking trail, blue-white sign) flat and uphill, with several right and left turns, until you finally reach the multipurpose hall. After the multipurpose hall, turn right onto the street and reach the fire station again.
(To get to the bus stop, go left from the multipurpose hall and after about 150 m turn right. Then go uphill straight ahead until you reach the main road, where the stops "To the Fire Station" are located. Follow the "long-distance hiking trail" signposting.)
