You will find beautiful nature and a lot of peace on a 34 kilometer long cycling round route through the Niederspreer pond area. The nature reserve with its many ponds is embedded in the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape. Here you can enjoy not only the flora and fauna but also observe rare animals.

The 34 kilometer long cycling round route takes you right through the Niederspreer pond nature reserve, where people created ponds for fish breeding more than 500 years ago.

You should start your cycle trip in Daubitz and cycle through lots of nature to the small village of Stannewisch. If you are travelling with children, detours to the nature trail and a visit to the game enclosure are recommended. Then continue to Trebus, where the lovingly furnished local history room and a rustic pottery farm await your visit. Past the Spree and

Neusorge the path leads directly into the Niederspreer pond nature reserve, where old oaks, dunes, dry grasslands, moors and many lakes and ponds invite you to relax. Besides the white-tailed eagle, you can also observe cranes, otters and many other endangered animals here.

In the midst of nature, cycle past Niederspree Castle, which today is used as an environmental education center. Before your path leads back to Daubitz, you can stop at the western settlement with bison enclosure in Walddorf.
