Lake Schladitz, as part of the northern Neuseenland, enjoys great popularity, especially among outdoor enthusiasts.
Lake Schladitz, in the north of Leipzig, is part of a recreational area that resulted from the recultivation of a former large-scale open-cast mine. Meanwhile, the beach at the Schladitz bay, the Biedermeier beach and the Lake Wolteritz side invite you to swim. The asphalted path around the lake is ideal for hiking, biking, but also skating.

The circular route starts at the Haynaer Straße, following the clockwise direction down to the south. On the southern part, the path leads along the lake stage and leads north again on the western lakeshore. On the left is the narrow Freirodaer stream, on the right, it goes off to the Schäferhöhe and along the shore path, the route leads to the northern tip of the lake. Descending to the south, the path now leads back to the beach and starting point.
