The European long-distance hiking trail E3 from the Atlantic to the Black Sea crosses Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria - approx. 8,000 km, around 6,950 km marked, 1,100 km of which pass through Germany. In the Ore Mountains, the E3 is marked with a blue horizontal line in a white square and is supplemented by the E3 symbol.
The E3 leads approx. 250 km through the Saxon Ore Mountains. Along important mining towns such as Schwarzenberg, Annaberg-Buchholz, Marienberg and Altenberg, you can experience contemporary mining history. The Scheibenberg (807m) and Pöhlberg (832m) table mountains, the Auersberg (1018m) and the Kahleberg (905m) are proverbial hiking highlights of the tour.
