Moderate road bike route. Good basic fitness required. Mostly good road surface.
This loop represents both a physical challenge and a nature experience. The route passes through the Erzgebirge-Vogtland Nature Park and covers exactly 1000 meters of elevation gain and loss!

Klingenthal train station
The starting point of the route is the train station in Klingenthal. It then steadily goes uphill towards Jägersgrün, where we will return on the way back. First, we turn left onto Klingenthaler Straße towards Auerbach. Via Beerheide, Lohhaus, Fichzig, and Rempesgrün, we reach the city center of Auerbach. Here we follow the B169 to Rodewisch and then on to Wernesgrün. Shortly after Steinberg, we keep right towards Schönheide and further towards Eibenstock until we reach the B283, where we turn right towards Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz. Following the B283, we return to Jägersgrün and then head back to Klingenthal to the train station.
The road bike route has been tested by road cyclists. Nevertheless, personal fitness must be carefully considered and critically assessed by the cyclist.
Please pay attention to your safety as you will be on public roads!

About 300 meters of elevation can be saved if you start the route from Jägersgrün!
You can reach Klingenthal via the A72 (Plauen Süd exit) and the B92 / B283.
Public parking is available at Klingenthal station and in Jägersgrün.
You can reach Klingenthal with the Vogtlandbahn RB 1 on the Zwickau - Falkenstein - Kraslice route as well as with the RB 5 on the Mehltheuer - Plauen - Falkenstein - Kraslice route. In Klingenthal, city bus line A operates between Kopernikusring and the Aschberg. Regional buses connect Klingenthal with Bad Elster (V-30), Oelsnitz (V-38), Falkenstein-Hammerbrücke (V-53), and Rodewisch-Auerbach (V-79).
