Hike to the lookout mountain Hochwald (749 m)

The path (yellow mark) leads uphill through the village along the main road to the Parkhotel. From here turn right and go up the Alte Hainstraße to the district of Hain. Hain is, at 550 m, the highest settlement in Upper Lusatia. The path continues along the road to the border crossing at the Kammbaude. From here, the path ascends through the forest along the yellow mark. After brief, steep climbs, the summit region is reached. From the Hochwaldbaude viewing plateau, on clear days, there is a beautiful view of the Bohemian Central Mountains, the Jizera Mountains, and the Giant Mountains. Further north, following the blue mark, the route leads to the Hochwald Tower with the tower tavern. On this path is the junction for the descent. From the tower, there is a magnificent three-country panoramic view of the entire surroundings. The descent leads towards Lückendorf to the Kammloch (blue mark). At Kammloch, the road is crossed. In the forest, the path continues towards Felsengasse (yellow dot) to the Fürstenhöhe. The Fürstensteig (yellow mark) is also the descent towards the spa town and the narrow-gauge railway station Oybin.
