We begin our hike at Drei Brüder Höhe (688.1 m above sea level), follow the circular hiking trail "Around Marienberg" to the B171, cross it, and walk over the Mooshaide to the Wüstenschlette.
Then we keep right to the exit of Großrückerswalde and continue left to the Old Court (742.2 m above sea level). We cross the B174, walk on the former railway grounds to Kohlenstraße and pass the memorial in Gelobtland. After about 700 m, we turn right into the hiking trail Zeuggraben and follow it to Halbmeilenbachweg. We follow the path right to the B174. Then we walk about 250 m left along the federal road.
Alternatively, we can follow the former railway line. Further on, we come across the information board for Leuchtertanne and the Dead Stone.
Once again, we cross the B174. Passing the former peat works (moor nature trail), we follow the ridge path (KAMM) to Reitzenhain, continue via Auerhahnweg to Hirtstein (889.8 m above sea level) to Satzung (KAMM). We follow the Preßnitzweg to the small wooden bridge, cross the Czech border, and after 300 m reach Alte Preßnitzer Straße.
We turn right to after 500 m turn left to Jelení hora (Hassberg, 994 m above sea level). After about 1.5 km follows a short but steep climb to the summit. Over 900 m above sea level, we reach the highest point of the hike and can enjoy the incomparable view of the Preßnitz dam and the highest peaks of the Ore Mountains, Fichtelberg and Klínovec (Keilberg).
We return to Alte Preßnitzer Straße, keep right and follow the blue marking. After about 4.5 km, we leave the former border crossing Satzung-Ulmbach on the left. We leave Alte Preßnitzer Straße, keep left and follow the slightly overgrown path along the power lines to the border crossing Reitzenhain at B174. We cross the road but remain on Czech territory and follow the road immediately by the border to the former malt house.
We keep slightly right, then immediately left and come to the deserted village Kienhaid. Here we go straight, slightly uphill to the game enclosure. We orient ourselves by the power lines. At the game enclosure, we climb left.
