This tour leads from Altenberg to two peaks of the"14 eight-thousanders in the Osterzgebirge".
Frank Meutzner, the Saxon mountaineering guru par excellence, had the crazy idea of bringing the eight-thousanders of the Himalayas to the Eastern Ore Mountains. And he did it! Here, however, the peaks are measured in decimetres and so we have a unique hiking tour in the Altenberg vacation region that connects the Ore Mountains' "eight-thousanders".
On the BIWAK-Kuppe and the Scharspitze, hikers can collect stamps for their summit map and follow in the footsteps of the "eight-thousanders". The BIWAK-Kuppe will delight you with its hidden summit book, while the Scharspitze offers rest stops and exciting insights into the history of the Altenberg bobsleigh run
