The steam trains of the Fichtelbergbahn puff along between Cranzahl and the spa town of Oberwiesenthal several times a day. If you would like to be active yourself, you can cover the entire route or just a section of it on the "Bimmelbahn adventure trail", which runs largely parallel.
Tired hiking legs can rest again in the steam train and can use the Fichtelbergbahn to continue their journey. It is possible to interrupt the journey. While the train covers a total distance of 17.4 km, hikers walk around 20 km. The trail is accessible in the snow-free season from around mid-April to the beginning of November.
