The cycle tour starts at the corner of Bebelplatz and Petersstraße in the heart of Freiberg. Not far from the starting point you will see the "Schwedendenkmal" designed by Prof. Eduard Heuchler. Turn left into Körnerstraße next to the Brauhof inn. At the end of the street, turn right into Dörnerzaunstraße. After crossing Annaberger Straße, continue straight ahead until you reach the tunnel. Again, follow the road until you reach the B 101. We recommend dismounting here and pushing your bike past the Dänisches Bettenlager and then turning right into the street "An der Kohlenstraße". Follow this road for approx. 270 m. Now cross Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße. Continue straight ahead on the road "Am Seilerberg". After 500 m, a comfortable cycle path runs parallel to the B 101. Cycle past the "3 Kreuzen" and the Gasthaus Hammer (worth a detour here) to the "Drei-Brüder Schacht". The world's first cavern power station is located under the mine dump, which generated electrical energy from water currents at a depth of over 270 m from 1914 to 1972. After 500 m, cross the Pochgängerweg and you will see the "Beschert-Glück-Fundgrube" in front of you. The mine yielded a rich harvest. The hat house, machine house and cutting bench are still preserved.
Now follow the road "Am Konstantin" on the left for another 700 m. Now the "Konstantinschacht" with its pond appears in front of you. The shaft, which was sunk in 1844, was operated as the upper workings of the cavern power station from 1922. It was named after the last Saxon mining captain, Constantin von Beust (1806 - 1897). Leave the Konstantinteich pond on your left and cycle for 1.3 km along the field path via "Krausens Mühl" to the main road. Cross the main road and continue in the direction of Müdisdorf. After approx. 1.7 km, turn right into Brandsteig and you will reach the Erzengler recreation area. It is worth taking a dip in the cool water here. Follow the Brandsteig and after approx. 350 m turn left into Erbisdorfer Grenzweg. After approx. 1 km you will reach Alte Waldstraße.
Turn left here and immediately right again. Follow the signs to the spring. Once you reach the Münzbach spring, it is worth taking a break. Then follow the path back again. Do not turn left but follow the path straight ahead. At the Alte Waldstraße, turn right and follow the signs. After a few meters, you will see an old water wheel on the left-hand side. Follow the path back to the Erzengler pond. Once you arrive at Erzengler, follow the signs for "Ausfahrt". When you reach the main road, turn left and after approx. 700 m turn into Obere Dorfstraße.
Use the momentum for a crisp ascent through Berthelsdorf. Once you reach the top, you have earned a breather. Let your gaze wander over the Silver City® of Freiberg. After 200 m downhill, turn left in front of the "Zur Schmiede" inn. Continue downhill past Berthelsdorf railroad station. You will see the Hüttenteich pond on the left. It is part of the artificial water system from the silver mining era. The water that was dammed up here was used as a surcharge. You will soon reach the entrance to Zug-Langenrinne. The "Junge Hohe Birke Fundgrube" is located directly on the road on the left-hand side. It was closed in 1893 despite the ore still being present. Continue in the direction of Freiberg on Berthelsdorfer Straße.
After approx. 350 m you reach Pappelallee, turn right here and follow the road for approx. 280 m. Continue along the cycle path on the left for approx. 1.5 km. When you reach the tunnel, cross it until you reach Dammstraße. Continue straight ahead along Silberhofstraße until you reach the traffic circle. Follow the traffic circle and take the second exit towards the train station. Follow the short ascent until you reach Poststraße. Turn right. You can probably already see the town hall tower in the old town. Cross the B 173 and follow the road to Obermarkt. Now you have earned yourself a cool Freiberg beer in the Ratskeller.
You will reach your starting point via Petersstraße.
