Cycling along the Klingenberg dam - the water glass of Dresden
Neuklingenberg hiking parking lot
Neuklingenberg hiking parking lot
From the hiking parking lot at the certified hiking hotel "Neue Höhe" in Neuklingenberg, down the valley to the Streichholzbrücke bridge and the Klingenberg dam and over the Mauerkrone.
Note: please do not leave bicycles on the top of the wall! On the east side of the dam, turn right to the pre-dam and continue to the district road. Turn left uphill on the district road to Beerwalde - then left through the village downhill to Ruppendorf - left again and straight ahead in the double bend (2nd bend), up into Höckendorfer Heide. At Wettinplatz, we join the R19, but leave it again at the Heide sports field and head left downhill to the interesting village center of Höckendorf, with its zoo and tranquil market square as a rest stop. After a visit to the zoo, the Thelerschänke tavern, the local history museum or the Erbgericht restaurant, we follow the K-1 markings via Mittelweg to Obercunnersdorf and on to the Waldschänke tavern above the Klingenberger Talsperre dam (rest stop). Now the trail descends steeply and now in the opposite direction over the top of the wall - another rest stop at "Lindenhof" - downhill on the air side of the dam wall, along the Wild Weißeritz to Klingenberg. Follow the state road through the village for approx. 300 m uphill to the left through the former manor, now a hygiene wholesaler. Stay on asphalt, above the sports field, gym and church back up to Neuklingenberg, back to the starting point.
Of course, you can also choose to start and finish there after renting an e-bike at the Hotel zum Erbgericht in Höckendorf.
