30 km around the Eibenstock Reservoir
The 30 km cycling round of the Three-Reservoir Marathon features around 820 metres of elevation gain and is suitable for any moderately trained cyclist. The scenic appeal lies in the route around the Eibenstock Reservoir, the largest drinking water reservoir in Saxony. Along the forest-rich route, you will frequently get views of the “Ore Mountain Sea”. The highlight is the crossing of the main dam near the Eibenstock district of Neidhardtsthal. Start at the Bretschneider sports facility in Eibenstock and then follow the signage! You can download the GPS data from our website. Almost half of the route surface is asphalt; the majority are hardened forest paths (about 41%). There are also some short unpaved sections.
Note:
Every 3rd Saturday in September, the Three-Reservoir Marathon takes place in Eibenstock. Cyclists can compete over distances of 30 km, 50 km, or 100 km in a race against time. Passion and emotion in the most beautiful landscape guaranteed. More event information on our website.
