Zabeltitz Baroque Garden

W skrócie

One of the biggest and most significant park compounds in Saxony.

Zabeltitz Baroque Garden near Meissen is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll with magnificent paths, bordering hedges and adventure forests. The park’s image is shaped by elaborate sandstone figures and its splendor is reflected by the large water features. The strictly symmetrical baroque garden was designed in 1728 by the court gardener, Johann Christoph Knoeffel, at the behest of Imperial Count August Christoph von Wackerbarth. The palace, which was built on the site of the former moated castle, combines with the »Old Palace« to form a charming ensemble of baroque and Renaissance architecture. The magnificent hall has become a venue for memorable celebrations – couples can get married at the registry office in the baroque palace and then celebrate in the regal surroundings. The palace also features numerous rooms and a café for cultural events and conferences.
