Winter hike in the Kirnitzschtal valley

W skrócie

On the road with National Park guide Michael Day tour: In the footsteps of the first Swiss travelers with warming mulled wine in your luggage

From the Kneipp spa in Bad Schandau, the route takes us on the traditional Kirnitzschtalbahn to the Lichtenhain waterfall. From here we walk to the new Wildenstein with its gigantic rock gate - the Kuhstall - and enchanting views of the rear of Saxon Switzerland. With a warm sip, we head over to the distant rock faces via the Fremdenweg, which the first travelers to Switzerland took over 200 years ago. The ascent to the small Winterberg warms us up and rewards us with magnificent views. From here, we continue to the large Winterberg and the Kipphorn view. A panoramic view for the eyes, a sip of mulled wine for the body and a few poetic lines for the soul.
Afterwards we descend to the winter village of Schmilka, where our tour ends and you have the opportunity to enjoy a culinary or warming rest.
