Luminous cultural festival invites you to the Upper Vogtland music and winter sports region until 25 February.
From 1 Advent to the end of February, the renowned winter culture festival of the Chursächsische Winterträume presents the two Saxon State Spas Bad Elster and Bad Brambach as places of experience for an inspiring feel-good stay of culture & relaxation in the Christmas country of the Upper Vogtland. In addition to the numerous top events in the royal grounds of Bad Elster as the heart of the festival, selected experience offers of the tourist centres Adorf, Klingenthal, Markneukirchen and Schöneck are thus also integrated in the festival programme.
The historic König Albert Theater Bad Elster inspires with a broad spectrum: classical highlights of the Christmas and winter season are above all the concerts of the Tölzer Knabenchor (26.11.) and the Wiener Sängerknaben (20.12.), the premiere of "Der Opernball" (12.01.), a birthday concert for Mozart by Ranga Schirmer (27.01.) or the operetta classic "Die Zirkusprinzessin" (02.02.). Other highlights include special theatre evenings with the Christmas classic "Die Feuerzangenbowle" (17 December), an Advent concert by Gunther Emmerlich (16 December), the swing bells of the Casanova Society Orchestra (26 December) and the musical hit "The Phantom of the Opera" on 30 December. In addition, there is a noble Varieté Dinner Event at the Royal Spa House (01 & 02.12.), a luminous Advent Festival (8-10.12.) in the centre of the Royal Gardens and wintertime ballet classics such as "The Nutcracker" (06.01.) and "Sleeping Beauty" (23.02) respectively. Winter stars such as Uschi Brüning & Günther Fischer (26.01.), Joe Bausch (09.02.) and Markus Maria Profitlich (11.02.).
In the course of this winter culture festival, the Royal Gardens Bad Elster will once again be staged in a radiant world of lights: Numerous artistic illuminations creatively visualise the entire historical complex in a completely new, luminous dimension! Festival visitors can round off their stay in the music and winter sports region of the Upper Vogtland with a visit to the unique Soletherme & Saunawelt Bad Elster or the idyllically located Bad- und Saunalandschaft Bad Brambach.
