Berggießhübel (Kirchberg)
This quiet hike is especially recommended in snow or on the first spring-like days with sun.
From the parking lot at the visitor mine “Marie Louise Stolln,” you need to cross southwest over the intersection. To the right of the park, a footpath leads to Kirchberg. As the name suggests, the Evangelical Lutheran Bergkirche Berggießhübel is located here. Shortly after passing through the residential area, cross the federal road heading southeast. Signposts to the "Owl Stones" and "Eibischsteine" marked with the green dot serve as orientation. Unfortunately, forestry work has left clear traces on this section of trail through an otherwise beautiful forest. Large stones covered with moss lie here, looking as if they fell from a giant’s pocket. However, there are no signs of larger rocks around. Thus, it is a beautiful place but has unfortunately suffered considerably from recent forestry work.
Just before Bahra, there is a small private wildlife enclosure at the edge of the forest and a beautiful clearing. The detour to Bahra leads along single-family homes. It is important to always keep right here, essentially choosing the right path at every junction.
Once you reach the historic Eisenstraße, the path leads straight ahead. When the first signs of spring appear here, one can hear the birds chirping and see the light shining through the forest. In Berggießhübel, you must then walk a short stretch along the “S173” before turning left onto a small side path to the street “Am Kaffeeberg.”
This hike is a blue route (easy route, mostly flat, often cleared, almost always passable).
